My 240miles ran out close to home and I couldnt get to an Optimax pump, so I ended up with Esso Super Unleaded. Only 97ron - didnt think it would make that much difference, but my MY04 WRX is running crap! Fluffy and hesitant - is this normal? Or was it just cos it was -3C this morning?

I'd probably say the temp was the prob as i've used all kinds of unleaded ranging from RIX to optimax and never really noticed much change,the only one which makes some difference was ultimate which made the Blitz even louder

 

Your car should run better in cold temperature, denser air = more fuel burned = more power
