Exhaust - it's best to find some cars of similar spec to yours if possible and listen to what they have fitted - try before you buy.
Filters if your after a replacement panel filter for the standard box, Bob Rawle of BRD who's well respected in the scooby tuning community recently advised me to try a k+n or STI make filters as good high flow options.
Cheers, Cal

Thumbs up

Best exhaust has to be the APS stuff - v. pricey, but low back pressure.

You can even keep it noise legal if you're a fool like me...

Got a green cotton panel filter for sale will fit the STI 7

only been used for 2,000 miles (can be used for upto 500,000 miles!!)

some say they are much better than K&N but never tried K&N so don't know.

I noticed an improvement on my WRX.

Not only that it will save you a bomb on replacment filters as you just clean and re-oil this one!!!

Just listed it on Ebay but if you want it £20.00 plus postage its yours!!

Oiled filters can lead to Maf damage (speaking from experience) STI is safe and performs well.IMO No complaints with Magnex system (full).

What makes you think the APS has low back pressure and compared to what?

Check with Bob next week for first hand advice but he has just fitted an STi pannel filter I think and I expect a K+N will be as good. He has a prototype exhaust system on now and hopes to have the first production system fitted for 29th February. (Prosport Rolling Road Day organised by John Felstead)

I fitted a K&N induction kit to my MY96 and noticed the difference immediately. More responsive in lower revs and nice induction roar when turbo kicks in. Also noticed an improvement in fuel economy which I wasn't expecting! Was easy to fit too. If you still have the original recirculating Dump valve you'll be able to hear it firing on an induction filter.
