Does your car have Air/con?? Does it work??
Reason is they use a green dye to test for leaks. I know its a long shot but worth eliminating.

my water with its anti freeze is green.

 

It's engine coolant, should be nothing to worry about.

Mine did the same after a service and I thought it was terminal!

Probabily leaking from the top of the expansion tank header, located nearside front of the engine bay, next to the battery.

There is a pipe leading from the top of the header into the nearside wing and out onto the floor. The pipe is an overflow in case the expansion tank is overfilled. The water expands when hot and if there's no room left inside the tank, escapes through the pipe.

It should stop after a few days of spirited runs, once the water has found it's own level.

If you're really worried and think you have a major leak then you can also check the level inside the radiator header, usually located towards the middle, offside of the engine bay (check the manual!). Also keep an eye on the temp gauge.

Seem to have a green fluid (looks like brake fluid except green)leaking from under the passenger side of the engine. Had a look, but I was unable to find where the leak was coming from. Lots of the fluid on the cross member near the rack? It is also causing white smoke which comes from down beside the timing belt, which has just been changed during 45k service. Couldn't see any oil underneath the timing belt cover. I know 5.1 brake fluid was spilt during the service, could it be sitting somewhere which moves during driving?

 

What a disaster. As I came home from work I could smell something burning!! Turned out to be my engine! Luckily as soon I stopped the car, the smoke died down (not steam),although I thought I was going to have to use my fire extinguisher. It seemed to be coming from the bottom of the engine where the pipe from the radiator goes into what I think is either the water pump or the thermostat housing. So my car is now to be taken by truck to the garage tomorrow. Only 6 days until Knockhill!!!

Jesus mate , I thought i was having a bad day!! ( Lorry pulled out on me and i had to stop rel quick.My brakes are warped....Scared the crap out of me.

Just a thought. Hope you know how to use a fire extinguisher in this situation.....
