Best place for telling egt is in turbo itself.

Dont know of any sensors breaking off.

There isnt much to them to break off.

Lambda sensors in headers in earlier cars dont seem to break off.

I will be putting mine in the up pipe.

Question

So best place is in the uppipe, but is it wrong to put it in the downpipe?

I guess if you're only interested in relative temperatures you could stick it anywhere (within reason ) but...

Not wrong to put it in downpipe, but it will be cooler there.

people use egt for mapping purposes, and so yes, a relative reading will be of some use.

but equally if in the hotter place (eg. uppipe), you can figure out what damage if any, is being done to your turbo, possibly before it happens.

Hi all

Whitch is the difference between Exhaust Gas Temperature and Turbo temperature gauges if any?

If you fit the EGT sensor in the uppipe where do you fit the turbo temp. sensor then?
And witch is better for monitoring the turbo and/or exhaust gas temp?

Thanks in advance.
