Excuse my ignorance, but what is a quick shift? I've got a STi7. The gearshift is a lot shorter than on normal cars. Is this a quick shift or is it just standard STi box?

No, that's just a short gear lever, although it may have a quickshift on as well!

A "quickshift" is the term normally given to a gadget that actually reduces the angle through which the stick has to travel (compared with the standard) to complete a shift.

On an Impreza, the important bit is the gearstick itself, and how far from the pivot ball the linkage mount is set.

Most aftermarket Impreza "quickshifts" take the form of a replacement stick, although some include complete replacement linkages, some are just a little machined part that fits over the standard stick to change its connection point (and hence leverage ratio).

"Quickshift" is a bit of a misnomer really, because it doesn't make the shift quicker in time terms, it just reduces the distance your hand has to travel to make it. Of course, reducing the length of the gearstick has similar effects, but the downside of that method is that your hand then has further to travel between the steering wheel and the gearstick and back.
