Finally decided to get some dials for my classic import WRX so know what speed i'm doing in MPH instead of havin to convert it from KPH!
Has anyone fitted some before? Had a look at the dash but not sure how to go about it/gwet into the dash!?

First thing, how do the dials go on??
if you have to prise the needles off you will spend the next two weeks trying to get them back in the right orientation.
to remove mine, i lowered the steering wheel on the adjuster, and if you look up the perspex screen there is a surround held in place by 3 phillips screws(at the top ), undo them and lightly pull the surround out, there are then 4 screws and the whole dial assy comes out(dont yank it has electric clips you have to remove).
the one bit of advice is if you remove the needles they can go back and show 20mph (or any other speed) when you are not moving as they just push in with no locating tab!!
it took me forever to sort the rev counter out, about 20 times off and on again!

All you have to do is mark where the needle rest on the Black dial before you take it off. THen copy that to the white dials and line them up there.
To remove the needles of the rev and speedo use 2 teaspoons, one either side of the needle and using the spoon part under the black round bit of the needle, gently prise off the needle.
To remove the rev and Speedo dials there are two screws on the face of the dials. undo these and the will come of easy as pie.
The Fuel and temp guage are anotehr matter tho, hte needles anr not designed to come off at all and will break if you try!!!!!
The way to do the fuel and temp is to remove them from the console by undoing the three screws on the back of the console. The fuel and temp guages will come out allowing you to get to them easily.
Take the two small screws out of the Fuel and Temp dials before you start any cutting.
If you look at the white fuel and temp dials you will see the cut outs which allow you to get them round the needle. You will need to make these cuts on the black dials to remove them. Very carefully you need to cut the black dial from the edge to the centre matching the cut out on the white dials. BE CAREFULL NOT TO BREAK THE NEEDLE ( like I did
) The needle is a very fragile thing and will not move in any direction except for how the guage allows, any upward pressure will break the needle!!
When you have got the black ones off simply put the white dials on and replace the screws in the front and then rescrew them into the console from the back. You wont need to reset the needles as we haven't removed them.
Refit the block connecters but don't screw the console back into the dash as its a good idea to run the car and check the needles are all in the right position. Mine were slighty out so I had to take the front off and repostion the needles to get em right but after a bit of trial and error I got mine set up perfectly.
Not the best explination but I hope it helps

Cheers for the advice. Looks like i'm going to have to mess around with the wiring plugs too as the plug on the car is different to the dash, lucky the wire connector for the replacement dash is still in teh back of it!
Going to have a crack at it at the weekend, just to avoid driving and crashing the thing in this lovely weather were having, just found out today the ABS on scoobys goes bonkers at the slightest sign of ice on the road!
