If I am looking for a replacement ECU for a 1993/4 WRX:

- What options are there.
- Where are they available from.
- What sort of costs are involved.
- How will the bhp compare compared to the current 240PS.

Cheers

replacement ecu.. why, is the current one broken?

if not, just chuck in a scoobyecu. in fact, even if it is, id be inclined to buy a used standard ecu and throw a scoobyecu chip into it.

your other options are around (or over) £1k.

power depends on what other mods you've got of course.

I didn't think that there were any Scoobyecu chips available as yet as there are no boards available ?.

I was just sussing out what other options there were as well but at £1,000+ I think the Scoobyecu is very attractive !!!.

If you can get a scoobyecu then do so, I had one on my 94 WRX Wagon and it was great. a nice cheap, but reliable change.

As for other options, well, let's see:

Autronics
Link ECU
Motec
Pectel
GEMS

and possibly others.

If you're going to be bitten by the modifying bug then something like the Link would be great as it's easilly re-mappable, plus it's probably the least expensive of the others, really does depend what you're going to do to the car.

Car is used for hillclimbs and needs some more bhp - currently runs with RM 100 octane fuel but this is too expensive !.

Car is stripped out, competetion seats , rollcage, adjustable suspension, uprated rollbars, drop links, bushes, etc, etc but just needs more power to be competitive, i.e. it is okay handling wise but needs a power lift.

Seem the Sccobyecu is the chap to go for !.

Hi David,

I had sent you an e-mail but hadn't heard from you but then I have just read another post from you saying how many e-mails you receive so I am not surprised !.

Can you please send me an e-mail (stuart.butler@heritage.co.gg)and let me have your address and how much you want the cheque for and I'll send my ecu to you in a couple of weeks.

Kind regards

Stuart
