Question

Does anyone know if I can charge the purchase of Suits, Shirts, Ties etc. to my Company? I am spending more time now meeting new clients etc., i.e. the face of the Company, so need to look the part.

Is this a legitimate expense? Total cost to suit & boot = £750.

If it is a legitimate expense, why would I want to pay for it privately? It's not unheard of for employees to get a payment towards uniform etc. do why not bosses allowance for suit/uniform?

Nope. This isn't wholely, neccessarily and exclusively for busines use, in the terms of the IR.

A boiler suit with a big logo on the back - yes, a hand-made saville row suit with loeb shows - no
