Question

cross posted from 22b.com, coz i'm a pain like that

i have, for some time now, been wondering exactly what the air induction type thing (tech term for you ) is on the blackbeast.

Here is a pic of the thing:

The filter is know is a Super Flow because I have replaced it.

What I want to know is;

Is It an induction kit or is it just a air filter replacement, ala fitting a blitz filter?

It does not look like the super power flow kit or the racing induction kit I have seen in various pictures.

thanks for any info

an induction kit and a cone filter are the same thing.

They just require that you remove the air box and insert a different shape filter.

looks like an HKS to me, but not the hyper over expensive one that comes with a shiny pipe.

OK, I'm supposed to know this stuff, but what is an induction kit exactly?

The picture of Markus's car shows a filter piped straight onto the air flow meter, skipping the air box.

Does an induction kit have to replace all the induction piping?

Should have put this in the intial post.

I know it's HKS, because it has HKS written on the cage for the filter, plus Nito has supplied me the super power flow filters for it, plus I also got some from TDi

What I want to know is wether it's just a replacement for the airbox (which I do have in my garage, nice people these japanese) or wether it's an induction kit. I'm guessing a true induction kit replaces the MAF sensor, which I think it sill has, as there are wires going into it.

An induction kit replaces the airbox and element.

You'll never be able to get rid of the MAF with the standard ECU, as the ECU uses MAF to tell how much air is going through the engine.
