Don't know the garage but from description of the car I would try and knock them down on price a bit. 80,000 miles. The 90,000 mile service is feckin expensive - use that as that to barter with.

Even if you get it down to 6k you cant go wrong at that.

Good luck

I had a 96 wagon and I would personally say it was the best model year to have, it came standard with the TD05 turbo , and pretty much everything was proven technology. In 97 they changed the engine, the turbo (and maybe the gearbox ??) I believe that there were some minor problems associated with the new setup, especially with the 98 model (piston slap).

The 2 pot brakes on the 96 are pretty crap, one of the first big mods I did was fit 4 pot calipers and disks from a MY2000

Give it a little bit of time and you will get some more advice, it is sometimes quiet in here at the weekends. Posting a comment about not getting any replies will not help your cause

Is it a uk? my 96 sti's brakes are'nt too bad but the four pots are better. I looked at an orion 1600E (a long time ago) and the guy said it was mint, took the oil cap off and it was caked in burnt oil, wouldn't have lasted more than a month. That was a long time ago, think they have got better cars now. If you don't know much about the cars take someone who does. Why not see if there is any on here? at least that would have been looked after by an enthusiast.

Andyren -

I just bought my WRX from them last week mate

Very nice lads, Martin is the main man there. I also looked at the Car you are talking about, but beware - they dont like to haggle much!!!!!!

Only joking!! I went out in the P plate Uk turbo in silver, that was £6500 but they wouldnt budge. Reason being - it has nasty nasty leather interior. They said they would fit other interior but due to that they couldnt budge on price.

I got a not bad deal with my WRX though!! Seems to be running not bad. May have a blown exhaust at the manifold but still to get that checked out. Apart from that no complaints to date

They have just got a lovely Evo 5 and Escort Cossie in though which are very very tasty!!!

Let me know how you get on as i am going through to see them soon

Andy

Off your head if you buy that one, when you could have an MY99 with FSSH, with a new engine supplied by Subaru UK and still under warranty, gearbox, belts just done (ie, your looming expensive 90k service already done )and basically in mint condition for a few quid more

You know it makes sense
