Hi Guys & Gals, just a word of warning for all you scooby owners (classic imports), in the wycombe Area. They are getting stolen, my mate recently sold his N Reg classic Number plate N*** CAN (DBM), to a fella in micklefied it got stolen from his drive, before this another car from the micklefield area got stolen from a guys drive this was classic STi in white. They also attempted to steal a Black WRX from a guys drive on Hughenden Road, but failed as fortunatley the battery was dead, the same night they attempted to nick a silver classic wrx from Benjamin road but failed as they got spotted and ran off, this usually happens after 12:00 midnight, when theres no one about so if you get offered parts be vary as you might be buying stolen goods, so keep a eye on your wrx's. This just goes to show that the early scoobies must be fairly easy to break into, as their is no visible damage to the door locks, although they yank the whole ignition barrell out. I think they are going for the imports as opposed to uk cars cause of the lack of security on them, anybody else had any experiences of their car being broken into or stolen???

charming....just what i need.
Thx for the heads up Paul.
The car is well secured up as far as i can go, so apart from taking it off the road, there is little i can do about it.
Now i wont be able to sleep at all now.

Not only scoobs in the wycombe area mate - I had a P1 which someone tried to break into in the wycombe area and now my Rx7 has had a smashed window with someone trying to steal it but got scared off - and this is on a v quiet no through road.

Micklefield can be quite a bad area anyway for trouble.

Just take extra care - thats all you can really do.

My bro in law was stopped by the police on the west wycombe road a couple of months back in his P1 and had the car details checked as they said a lot are getting stolen around the area.

Prior to starting up the twoc.co.uk web site I did a lot of research into what was wanted and what the Police and Insurance Industry do about stolen vehicles. It became very clear that the Police rate this type of crime VERY low on there agenda. When a stolen car pulled up outside my house, and the get away car next to it, I phoned the Police (very evident it was stolen), I actually read the reg plate off the get away car, and it still took the Police 40 minutes to arrive! Did they catch em, god knows, because they would not let me know.

Just as an indication, I e-mailed EVERY Police Chief Constable in the UK to ask if they would help in any way with the site. How many came back to me? One!! and he said no. Big 5 insurance companies the same.

My message is simple, if you have a nice car, enjoy it when you can. If it gets nicked, make sure you have good insurance and put the details on the site. I have had many comments siting the fact that there are only a few cars on the site. This is true but only a few months ago I had none, today there are 25. The Police and Insurances companies don't give a monkeys whats happens to us, all motorists do is contribute £50billion to the ecomony of the UK, what do we get back, frickin M6 toll road blightin the view (of my parents house). We have to help ourselves.

Rant Over, I thank you.

Craig

Oh ok, just that a white mondeo thought he'd try to 'race/make me drive fast' me going through Marlow, as soon as I got on the A404 he quickly became a small speck in my rear view mirror - Of course I was well within the speed limits though

Only thought it may have been you cos I saw you had a Mondeo in the post above

How does knowing about this help? Short of taking the usual precautions (close windows, lock doors, connect to 1000v supply etc) I'm not really sure what else can be done. I've got to park it in the same place every night, so its easy to target.
