Been to subaru dealer today at Tiley bristol, to find out why the CEL come on and it was due to the 02 sensor, when I told him that the car had not been remapped yet to uk fuel he advised me to do this A.S.A.P. Does anybody have have any ideas on where to go or any suggestions.

Cheers.

Kinda depends on whether you're using normal UK pump petrol, or whether you're using octane booster as well, dunnit?

That's not the way to do it, you should use booster all the time, or, as Tiley's suggest, get the car remapped. The length of the journey has nothing to do with the car's susceptibility to det, that's more down to how hard you press the throttle.

Edited to say that on your '96 car, a ScoobyECU would be the most practical way of remapping...

As above scooby ecu do a search for info and comments there was an ad in the shop section David wallis is the man about £75, it remaps it for uk fuel and ups the boost with a modified fuel map .
Can strongly recommend it , it plugs into a spare socket on your existing ecu board .

someone called pavlo
I shall add that to the list with:
the one they call pavlo
More info soon, but essentially yes the car can be sorted for UK fuel, but I would stick to Optimax in the meantime, avoid BP ultimate, it's the worst of the bunch.

Hi Pavlo how much do you charge for do the remapping as I need this done A.S.A.P. as the car has just had a full engine rebuild less than 2000 miles ago.

we spoke to one of the octane booster companies at autosport ,and they admitted that using an octane booster all the time eventually clogged the cats up,i have spoken to a tuning company who gave me the info first, has anyone else heard this?i realise that this would only apply to cars with cats.
