I have a MY01 WRX with a MRT TMIC v2 and STi scoop. The standard intercooler opening from the scoop is too small.

Is there any reason why I should not remove the innner cover for the intercooler.

Will removal of plastic intercooler splitter housing result in cooler temps over the TMIC?

if the splitter houseing is what i think it is, its there to give you more air to the front of the intercooler

air rushing into the scoop takes a prefrence to the rear of the cooler

the splitters help "guide" sum air to the front
