My MY00 is coming up to 4 years old so I am planning to get the cambelt changed. I have heard that Gates belts are the same as Subaru. Where is the best place to get one?

How likely is it that the cambelt tensioner will need changing at the same time?

Think GGR do them as well as midland impreza.. no idea on best price though.. probably a motor factor that deals in gates belts etc..

Think www.midland-impreza.co.uk is Midlands website, cannot remember GGR's.

It seems pretty common that the tensioner will need changing, had to have one on my 00MY turbo at 3 years/36,000 miles as it was weeping slightly, not really something to take a chance on.

I have Emailed Midland Impreza and Graham Goode. Midland Impreza don't do them and Graham Goode haven't replied yet.

Just found an old thread saying that David at API Engines might be able to supply so have emailed him.
