Question

Looking round disklok site it seems the small size is only good down to 350mm wheels & it will surely be pointless on a much smaller wheel if it dont fit & can get ripped of easily
Thus what are other options or possibilities?
Basically looking for a deterant so not really looking for the gearbox locking type devices but equally wood ideally like a decent device such as disklok
Cheers
Si

Thieves wouldn't know the size of the steering wheel, when the disklock is fitted over it, and as long as they know how good a disklock is, they wouldn't bother trying to get it off.
So there's your deterent.

The disklock doesnt fit snug that is the point, the spinning makes it harder to get any kind of force to break it.
I have the smallest version fitted to my Pug 205 and that Steering wheel is quite small.

I have a 320mm Momo and the 'small' Disclok (350mm) and it will definately not come off.... wouldn't like to try it with the smallest Momos (300mm) tho.

& im looking at a 280mm momo as a possibility so hmm still not convinced, nowt personal as i say i'm paranoid WHO SAID THAT LMAO but seriously i have heard stories where people have been able to rip diskloks off, admitedly with sum force, but given they are the daday of steering wheel locks i'm somewhat sceptical of using them beyond what they're specified for....SO any other cunning plans wood be nice although the info is greatly appreciated peaps so thanks

Thumbs up

No sure of the wheel size on the STi but the small disklock I've got fits ok, it certainly won't come off easy! Anyhow the idea is not to have it clamp the wheel, as free movement is how the lock works.... turn the lock not the wheel!

ive got the small one on my aftermarket wheel

you cant get to the steering wheel to chop through so its pretty safe imo

its a bit slack, but as long as you cant get to the outside bits of the wheel it should be fine

Why don't you try one of these Snap Off

It just means that you have to take your steering wheel with you all the time

Demon tweeks told me the same about the snapoff hub,
I've got a 320mm sparco wheel and the small disc lock works fine with that, but 280mm!!! thats just tiny!!!

not got car yet hopefully pick it up on Saturday then i may share it with ya if yer nice Wasn't sure how big current wheel is but i no there are 280mm uns so liek to plan for every eventuality
The snap off uns are a strange looking thing but could be just the trick, does the hub thingy bit act as a spacer as well thou?
Also given i cant see any mention of price on their site anyone know rough costs of the snap off goodies?
Si

I used to use a disklok on my Raid wheel, it was fairly small, but the disklok has a large lip on the back so it couldn't be taken off, it was loose though , and you could move it up and down, not that it made any difference.

280 is small in a major way. Very much a personal choice thing of course, but unless you're a 4'10" dwarf or have exceptionally narrow shoulders, I'd be amazed to find you getting on with a wheel of that diameter in a car the size of an Impreza.

Wink

you can get through motorworld they give ya some speal about needing the hub kit aswell,it brings the wheel a bit nearer to you but not too much to worry about, cost about £140 for hub and snap of kit..if ya mail pazza at fastcar he modded the snap of kit direct to the top of the column to keep the wheel further back and did not buy the hub kit,a bit extra work but looked good..???z
