Is this the o2 sensor? My de cat down pipe does not have a provision for it. Would like to know for sure it will not be needed.

 

What year is your car? Where was the sensor originaly, down the bottom or just behind the turbo?

If it was down the bottom then I would assume its an early car. This is the cat temp sensor, since there will be no cat in the new DP the sensor is no longer needed and can be removed.

If the sensor if just behind the turbo it will be the lambda sensor, and is needed.

O2 sensor is in the headers on early wrx.

Cat on fire sensor in the downpipe. Do not need it if fitting decat downpipe.

 

Its just a normally open thermal switch, just unplug from the cars wiring loom and forget it.

Was about to post the same question. Had de-cat done week before Christmas and just noticed blank screwed into sensor housing on bend of new downpipe, mind at rest thanks.
