Question

Okay ...... I had problems about a month ago with the alarm sounding as I drove along (with the alarm unarmed, which still happens time to time), Now I seem to have more problems ... When I get out the car , arm it and the alarm sounds, disarm and re-arm it, again alarm sound, disarm and then arm again and then it is armed and the alarm doesn't sound.

Also (not sure if this is alarm related, but) , I changed my battery about 6 weeks ago as it kept being flat, went out to car yesterday, and the battery was flat ........ Could anything on the alarm be causing this??

Is it worth me taking this to a Clifford approved installer, asking them to strip it out and re-fit , or should I just get a new alarm ??

Thanks in advance for any input.

Nate.

I think getting it reinstalled is a bit OTT. Do the indicators flash when the alarm sounds? if not try disconecting the siren for a couple of days and see what happens, if they do then what comes up on the 'total recall'?

sorry to hijack this one Nate, but as I have very similar if not totaly same problem and my indicators are not flashing, turning the syren off -> I guess thats what the small key on the key ring is, but as I tried to find the syren I just can't see it, or does it switch off somewhere else?

thank you

Rob,

Not sure mate........... Mine is booked in to have the alarm 'serviced' next Friday at a cost of £25.00 which I don't find too sore .

Check the wiring to the siren make sure that the little multi plug is correctly seated and check that the wires have been fitted correctly through the engine bay grommet.
If you have a multimeter put it on the 10A scale and remove the battery +ve terminal. Connect the red lead to the battery +ve and the black lead to the removed battery terminal.Have a look how much discharge the meter is showing when armed / unarmed.
According to the installation manual the current drawn when in an armed state should be max 20mA

Hope this helps

Steve
