Question

Has anyone experienced shuddering when pulling away from cold?
Seems to be coming from the back rather than front.

Car's a 1997 5 door turbo, 47000 miles, on the original clutch.

I asked my local garage for some advice but they had no ideas, and the cars warm when it gets there so no chance of re-creating it.

Might be the infamous "clutch judder". Do a search for judder, it happens on a lot of cars.

Cool

I suppose you have remembered to release the handbrake before moving off?!

When you say it's coming from the back... how do you mean? Rear axleish or just behind you?

The handbrake, hmmmmm, yes the lever was in the down position.

Tried a few standing starts to clear the clutch off and it's much better. I guess the 'behind me' was just because it's an estate and there's lots of stuff to shake back there.
