I am in the process of planning a WRX STi motor and drivetrain swap into my US spec impreza. I am planning to use a JDM spec WRX STi motor in the car. I think I have all the bugs worked out, except for one, the ECU. I was wondering if a UK spec ECU would work with a JDM spec STI motor. I also noticed that there are a couple of remapping options in the UK. Could one of these be used to remap an ECU for US petrol? I thought of the UK spec ECU since you have similar fuel to the US. 95 RON octane vs 92 octane in the US. Thanks in advance for any answers.
