painting wheels a different colour - how?...
I've got a set of 17 inch gold wheels which I'd like painted gun-metal gray. Does anyone know of any specialists who do this sort of thing - preferably in the Yorks area..
Also, what is the technique? Do they just spray paint the wheels or is it more complex than that?
cheers
Tony

Try doing it yourself.
Prepare wheels with a rub down using fine grade emery and tack rag off. Mask tyres carefully and spray wheels using several light
coats allowing a short period of time between each coat. Finally
a few coats of clear lacquer to complete the job.

there are wheel referbishers nationwide, one near me (Milton Keynes) is called Pristine. They offer powder coating (had a set done a few years ago) and this is a full rebuild repairing any damage and then a coating of the colour of your choice. I am sure that you can find one local to you.
