I have run my sti 5 on sul from new 18 months but i have now decided to use octane booster how much should i put in per tank full to get to 100 octane and do i need to reset the ecu first?

Depends what make, I use Millers and SUL. One bottle to each complete tank full. Although I tend to do one tank SUL and booster, next fill up just SUL and so on. Mine is a 99 UK car and it makes a difference.
Whilst we are on the subject who's doing the best deal on Millers at the moment ?

 

Andy I use a similar method to you to stop an overdose. One bottle of Millers every other fill up.

Get mine from a company called Sidelines in Essex 01702 257225 think the last lot was about £25 ish for box of 10.

Yep, I can qualify...SIDELINES in Essex do it for about 25ish (the cheapest I have found!!!!!).
I dear say that a group buy might possibly bring it down a bit???????

Just to re-itterate the other replies, got an STi then use Millers Octane-C Plus(catted), not Silkolne Proboost, the majority of folk that I have spoken too about OB's report that proboost does more harm than good to your STi engine, no real gains on the octane side and can cause your engine to run hotter - that's the real downside, can have bad consequences with no.3 piston.

Millers is probably the fave, 1 bottle per tank, best added at the Pump just before fill up should give 2-3 octane increase.

Btw BP station on the A50 just out of Stoke heading east still has the pumps labelled up with 98SUL, and only 81.9p/litre, thats down by 8p since the petrol crisis , so for your tank's worth of petrol the bottle of millers costs you nowt

Got mine from Demon Tweeks too. Just started, on the first tank now.... Will see how it goes.

For those that use it, do you use it constantly, as I've read on some threads where people run one tank with, then one tank without etc... Any reasons for this move ?

Unless you fill up from empty every time you will gradually get a build up of concentration of Octane booster to a point where it will damage the CAT as one bottle treats 50 litres

 

Howie, why does Silkolene Proboost cause damage? How does it cause the engine to run hot? Please explain as you're scaring me mate.

 

I used an octane booster for the first time yesterday in my RB5 + ususal SUL, It was on the trackday day at knockhill, I didn't notice much difference on track (first timer) but on the way home I really did notice a difference, the car felt noticably quicker on the run to get the ferry home.

It was the silkolene stuff, expensive but I'm still trying to take the smile of my face.

If Millers is as good I'll order mine now!!! If I can get anyone in NI that actually has some.

Im now on my second fill up and am using 1 bottle of millers per 50 litres on a de catted sti 5 i reset the ecu with the 1 st tank and have to say i didnt feel a great difference but after 250 miles i can now feel a bit more throttle response and smoother running and it gives me peace of mind in the knowledge that my engine is getting the fuel its designed for

On 2nd tank of SUL with O+ now. (Luckily ran low on fuel and got a full 50 litres in so added another bottle of millers.

Same feeling as Tim. Not much difference at first, but after about 240-260 miles, am finding better response in cold starts etc.

Simon, The Terzo was a UK spec car, so presumably the ECU was mapped to run on regular 95 Octane fuel. (Ready for flaming if this is wrong )

Not sure how the Superchip would effect this. I suppose it depends on how this was mapped when installed. Any Terzo owners out there ??

I drive a MY98 Terzo, with a Superchip fitted.
