Which turbo is the car supplied with? Which would be equally as good if I am not able to source the original spec.

I dont know the difference between T## and T##, though I understand subaru use IHI turbos.

Anyone got a suitable second hand one?

VF28 at a guess? (the STi5 and 6 had the VF28) Try the SIDC FAQ or post in Drivetrain or on 22b.com. One of those should sort you out.

how much should one pay for one of these second hand?

 

The STi4 has an IHI VF24, not the '28. Secondhand price is a piece of string question, all depends on how many miles/what sort of nick etc. Figure somewhere in between £200 and £450 depending on age and condition.
