Question

Seem to be getting the shakes at approx 130mph (on a private road of course).
Is this down to the aerodynamics of a my98 model or do the tyres need rebalancing?
Don't often get the opportunity to hit 130mph seeing as i don't get on the private road/track often but was hoping to push it further but reluctant to do so till i know what the prob is.
Any help please?

When I had an MY98 I don't seem to remember it shaking at that sort of speed. What I do remember was it feeling too light though. I cured that by slowing down!!

The wheel balancing seems like the way to go. Maybe a full geometry set up.

Hmm....will ave the balancing done.

Am not high speed merchant as a rule, prefer the acceleration aspects really but still nice to know it's there and safe to do.

I also have a MY98, and found the steering was a bit light over 130 on the standard car, on the same private road. I read this was due to air getting under the car, lifting it up. I have since fitted the STi lip spoiler/air dam and Prodrive suspension (lower), which I have found has eliminated this problem, but created a new one in the way of speed humps !

I recently had steering vibration, but only between 65 and 75 - this was cured by re-balancing the wheels.

Hope this helps,

T
