Question

I have just noticed that my 98 classic is leaking oil over the drive, does anyone have any idea as to where this may be coming from, any knowing problems that may have happened in the past.

Any advice will be really appreciated

I'll second that... Rocker covers are a favourite. But both sides can go, so check the LHS too

Another possibility is the front crank oil seal (only usually a problem on higher milage cars - 90k+)

Must fix my RHS rocker cover too

Had a similar problem on my old MY96. Turned out to be the crank case oil seal had perished simply from heating up and cooling the rubber eventually cracked. Can't remember exactly but I think Scoobysport charged me £45 to fix this

The parts for each rocker cover cost approx £30
It is worth replacing the bolt washers while you're at it. (certainly the lower ones if nothing else!) Don't forget that you need to 3-bond (or equivilant gunge) some of the seals.

No idea about labour, as I tend to do these sort of things by myself.
