Has anyone heard of the oil cooler that Power Engineering has developed for the Impreza, I read something about it in the Fast Ford mag,

Has anyone tryed it, or know anything about any performance it might have??

Cheers

ha ha ha

I would think that they are taking the pi55 with that answer. If it weren't for the fact that they did some stuff to my car last Wednesday I would think they are pants. As it turns out the guys in the workshop were very very wise and helpful. Shame the person with the e mail response isn't.

Cool

I have the first oil-cooler PE fitted for a customer. There was some trouble fitting it, due to failures in components sourced from two seperate suppliers, but, to their credit, they did eventually manage to sort it out and the cooler has caused no obvious problems since. I will have to look into relocating it if I choose to fit a front mount intercooler, but it's fine otherwise. Increased my cars oil capacity to over 5 litres.

Moray,

How much of a temperature reduction does the kit make ? Does it alter the oil pressure ?

Do you have it plumbed "in series" with the existing cooler in the radiator ?

Thanks

Gavin

The price is a bit comical considering a Mocal 16 row oil-cooler (235mm matrix) retails at D.Tweeks for £63+VAT. Even taking a bespoke fitting kit into account, £550 seems a bit steep. We're making up our own oil-cooler 'kit' for under half of the total cost of the P.E. kit.
