Can someone clear this up please, I have a "scoopless" Impreza STi V5 and need to know if the Sti scoop is the same as the UK turbo scoop, I am currently looking around breakers, etc and even the main dealers are'nt sure ??

If you have a spare scoop, drop me a line.

STI scoop is bigger than the UK scoop. Higher I believe.

On the classic Imprezas the scoops are all the same size for UK/WRX or STi (you need a post97 type tho).

Look on the MRT web site. Not a lot of money.

Tony is dead right it was the STI7 that got the higher scoop, 25% bigger.

I bought an MRT one last winter, it's the same height as the STI7 but designed to fit the 97 classic onwards. Am very happy with mine and it sure flows some air.

I've got this scoop too (MRT) and it is noticeably higher than the OEM.

I can mail you some pics before and after if you want.

I can vouch for the one on Rich's car. Noticable difference when you look closely but not so obvious that it looks stupid. Excellent product..... try Jap Innovations for prices and pics.

The best scoop I have found for the classic is this from DRMotorsport:

Jim,

Are you using one of the DRM scoops?

To be fair kevy1975 asked about the scoop on his V5 STI.

The scoops from MY92-96 (UK, Euro and Japanese) are the same.
The scoops from MY97-00 (UK, Euro and Japanese) are the same.
The scoops from MY01-02 WRX are the same.
The scoops from MY01-02 STI are the same.

So kevy1975 to answer your question, if you can find a scoop from a car from MY97 to MY00, they will be the same, whether it's from a UK/Euro car or a Japanese car (WRX or STI)

Andrew, actually not in my car as have sold my MY00 for a WRX03, I bought recently one (carbon fiber scoop as the above from DRM) for the guy that has currently my old car and believe me is what I searched longtime to find in the past, good quality, factory fitment, strong and most important cheap and already painted in your color!
By the way I have no connection with DRMotorsport in case someone believes the opposite just try to help...

Thanks Jim,

I think I may be investing in one of these in the new year.
