Southend on Saturday nights willl be packed with the boy racer brigade.

Depending on what mood the police are in, you will be stopped, checked out and given a producer (maybe a ticket if they find anything dodgy).

Not speaking from experience, but this is what I have heard.

Police don't tend to stop people on seafront exceptnif they are bruning up and down.

People drive round pointlessly in circles to show off to the girlies and their friends.

Its very trashy and full of southend scum.

I have avoided it on friday and saturday nights for 5 years of driving and intend to continue doing so.

If you like cruising, posing and flirting with scantily clad ugly mingers with dodgy use of the english language go for it.

Although be prepared to be started on by people called wayne and tel and kev because you looked at them in a funny way down at the pub.

 

.. not to mention having some spotty 17 year old lose control of their Max Powered Nova and have it careering into your parked car..

 

A group of freinds have suggested we go to Southend this comming weekend.

I remember from years back it was Escort City
Is this still the case ??
Are Plod still in force ??
What about Speed Cameras & Traps ??

Is this a good Idea ??

I'm the only Imprezza driver, but the group going also contains 2 M3 BMW's a Supra & Saab

 

Southend can be reallynice if the weather is great but it depends why you are going there.

Nice restaurants on the sea front, a one mile stretch with three speed cameras but that is it.

No cameras on the A127 on the way there except traffic light jumping cameras which I have never seen flash.

Some good roads around wakering area and rural areas just north of southend, such as rochford, creeksea, hullbridge, burnham, south woodham, malden.......

The list is endless and they are actually quite away from southend. I tend to drive far when I am getting into my driving.

Then there is always the scoobysport test track/route on the way to southend.

Speeding is certainly not condoned.

Not entirely on the way to southend, but worth the deviation. None of your friends will be able to stay with you. You should try it for the experience!
