Can anyone tell me if there is a special procedure to check the gearbox oil level and if any is needed what's best to put in, the cars a 96 STI.

if this is the dipstick next to the turbo under the intercooler then i am interested in this too.
(please excuse my ignorance but i am learning every day!)
the oil is so clear that it is impossible to actually see the level on the dipstick.
