Have I broken the clutch???
I have a MY00 impreza turbo which has covered 1700 and when I disengage the clutch slowly in first gear I can feel a clicking sensation through the clutch pedal for the last centimetre or so of travel before I let the clutch fully out. It is possible to hold the clutch in such a position (i.e not fully out) so that this clicking can be felt for a few seconds. I have also noticed it very slightly when changing gear from first to second and it seems to get less noticible when the engine has warmed up. Now confession time I was demonstrating to someone the acceleration of the scooby when I went for a gear change from first to second. I don't know what I was thinking but I somehow completly messed up the gearchange and let the clutch up far too quickly with not enough throttle so there was a banging noise as the clutch engaged. I didn't think too much more of it and the car drove fine we went home, waited for the turbo to cool down and turned the engine off. The problem came when I went to go home again, I started the car, went to pull away and started to notice the clicking feeling. It only seems to happen at relatively low revs and if you pull away with more throttle you don't seem to notice it. So basically have I stuffed the clutch/flywheel/transmission after only 6 weeks??????
If the pedal on it's return journey moves so far, then stops, clicks, and continues the rest of it's journey. That is the symptom I had before I hit the pedal and it just stayed on the floor.
(No burning smell would indicate your clutch should be ok.)
The cause is purported to be the slave cylinder leaking pressure, and being unable to return the pedal.
Though I've been told it's easy enough top refurb the seals, no garage will do it. They wil only replace the whole thing. (At approx £150 from SGT Maidenhead) not too bad.
Hope things go well...

The Clutch action is still just as smooth as it ever was it's just that if I slowly lift the clutch for the last centimetre of travel then I get this clicking through the clutch pedal (If you can imagine the sensation you get when ABS kicks in but much softer and at about 10 clicks per second). Just seems too much of a coincidence that I mess up a gearchange and it starts. Like I said before it seems to go when the car is warmed up which makes me think I would have problems convincing the dealer of the problem if it gets worse.
do a search on clutches
it seems to be a 'feature' of a lot of scoobs
mines gone away now after booting it a bunch of times
sounds like you shouldn't worry mate if it is one click but you mention 10?? explain more?

Just did a search on "clicking" and although I didn't find a whole lot of useful stuff, I found something that explains the feeling through the clutch pedal far better than I could manage. "experienced a "pulsing" through the clutch acompanied by a "clicking" sound"
I think the pulsing part sums it up pretty well, it's like a very soft judder through the clutch accompanied by a very faint clicking (Not sure if I can hear the clicking of whether I just think I can because I am picking the vibration through my foot.
Just drove the car again at lunchtime for about 30 minutes and it didn't do it again so I am just wondering if maybe I did a little damage to the clutch plate that has cleaned up now??? Or am I just hoping and when I go home tonight it will come back??

I have a MY00 Impreza too and had a similar clicking problem mine was caused by the spring on the clutch pedal just givee it a good shot of WD 40 and it will go away
By the way have you ever timed your car 0-60 mph I got 6 flat at the start and at 5000k got al low as 5.6secs
