Non communicating ECU?
Took my WRX (MY93) to see Peter at Stamford Garage in Manchester to have some work done. He informed me that the Subaru diagnostic equipment would not communicate with my ECU!
Apparently this has only happened to him before when the car has been chipped, this by the way has not been done (the performance is good but definately not chipped).
Has this happened to anybody else? Any suggestions about how to sort this
(new ECU
). Any info would be gratefully received.
Cheers,
Tone.

The dealer may well require a special software module card for the Select Monitor to let it talk to your car's ecu. If he doesn't have the right card for your ecu, he won't be able to query it, IIRC. I suspect that you won't find many official UK subaru dealerships who have the necessary software. It's not the sort of thing that Subaru UK like to give out.
Moray

Moray
Cheers guys,
Moray, the garage in question is a Subaru specialist, nothing to do with Subaru (UK), i think. Does a lot of work on imports.
Gavin, i'll look into the cost of the Link ECU.
Cheers again guys,
Tone.
