Backboxes for Sports? (scoobysport question)
Hi there,
I am about to change the backbox on my Sport and have a Scoobysport BB but have a few questions. (I know that these questions will have been asked about a million times already but not for a sport)
Thankyou for all the help in advance,
Ian
General backbox question:
1)Do I have to go with a backbox made directly for Sports , or does any back box do?
2)What is the main difference between a Scoobysport and a Blitz?
Now about the scoobysport backbox,
3)I've heard that the Scoobysport BB is alot louder for the sport-
4)how much louder?
5) has anyone on the bbs had one fitted? how does it sound?

Definately thumbs-up for the SS backbox.
I fitted one to my 5 door Sport and suggest you do to! It is quite noisy - when I drove away from Scoobsport I thought "oh dear, the wife isn't going to like this". However, her first impressions were "This sounds sporty!". So no probs.
I would expect the SSBB to be less noisy on a 4 door, as the rear load area in the 5 door provides a resonance chamber. I've now got used to it.
The distinctive sound of the flat four at tickover can now be heard in all its glory. Under acceleration, it's veeery "sporty" (the wife's term). Above 4000 RPM, the engine seems to really pick-up (for a naturally aspirated engine).
Prior to going for the SSBB, I phoned several exhaust manufacturers, but they only did boxes for the turbo.
Hope this has made your mind up.

Thankyou for your replies
.
I'll look into getting the SS one then. I don't mind noise at all as my sister's (wrx stiv2) sounds absolutely amazing and was wanting something along the same lines for me without over-doing it. (My car sounds inadequate next to hers
)
Is the SS backbox louder for the sport than the turbo? i'm sure i read that somewhere..
