How do I adjust a Dump Valve I didn't know I had?
Previous owner has fitted a dump valve to my 95MY. I have no idea what make or model so bow to the huge knowledge of this board. It has 'numancs' written on the side and a small gold cone (about 15mm long) which I presume means it vents to atmosphere. It has a small screw head at the top, is this what you use to adjust it - and if so what will adjusting it do? Subaru dealer did not know - quote "they all go to prodrive for that sort of thing" !!!!
Any help much appreciated

Is the 'numancs' witting in green? and the gold cone has a sort of honeycomb texture?
If it is what I think it is be very careful as it's the bleed valve that superchips us for their chip conversion,I.E you will have no overboost limit

Yes it is. Do you have this kit? If so is it fully clockwise to reduce the boost and is there any way to find out if the Superchip is still fitted?
Cheers
Ken (slightly worried with screwdriver at the ready!)

No I don't have this kit but I did have it fitted to legacy turbo with no problems...
I would turn the screw back to it's original position though as it would of been set to the correct pressure.
It would also be a good idea to get a boost gauge fitted to keep an eye on things.
The only way to check if a superchips been fitted is to take the ECU out and inspect.
