Had the older one for over three years. Use it to go to the farm or if I am leaving it at the station etc. and it helps to keep the mileage down on the STi which will do over 12k mls p.a. With all the modding on the STi a second car was essential for times when it was being worked on.
No plans to do anything major to the STi now so I will do a few bits on the WRX Wagon and see where I can take it on a very modest budget over the winter.
To avoid accusations that the STi is not a daily driver from *** heads that come on here:
WRX MOT 14-11-03 62,320mls Current 62,638mls
STi MOT 19-11-03 41,677mls Current 42,543mls (first MOT)

Hi Harvey,

There's a group buy on in the General forum just now for the GEMS ECU.
It's for the ECU and mapping (cant supply the ECU only) and works out at a saving of £300 on each ECU.
Which wont be far off second hand prices!!

drb5 : No way was I meaning you are a *** Head. Sorry if it came over that way but there are quite a few of them on this board as you will have noticed. Part of it might be jealousy, doing the impossible and all that sort of thing instead of talking about it endlessly if you know what I mean.

Windows : Thanks for that. It is a budget project so I do not want to spend the money on a 6 row link or a Gems although I would have been attracted to the Gems if it had launch control for MY 95 but it does not. Bob Rawle is a friend and I know Steve Simpson but I am trying to sort it out for not a lot of money.
When I actually need the map I was thinking about speaking to Mr Wallis and he owes me a beer anyhow. Wish I could do smileys and a wink. How do you do that David?
