A Scoobysport downpipe (+ middle section) is due to arrive soon. It has been mentioned before that after fitting the eatshield doesn't fit anymore in the original way and the heatshield has to be trimmed.
Anybody got pictures/instructions in an optimal trim and how to re-install the heatshield.

Nico - the heatshield doesn't really need trimming - its just that the SS downpipe does not have two of the brackets that are on the original downpipe... this means you will have to secure it using the only remaining bolts which will ultimately mean that the heatshield may vibrate more than previously - you could remove it altogether and 'lag' the pipe with heat resistant blanket type tape - widely available - I chose to leave mine intact and have had no problems with it coming loose - but can feel some of the vibration when it is still cold - this goes away when the pipe is warm though.

enjoy the new sound - your neighbours won't ;-)

When Scoobysport fitted my downpipe they used an angle grinder to shape the heat shield to stop the rattles and to make re-fitting easier....as it's a beast to remove and replace!

Nico,
I have just fitted a SS Downpipe and Magnex Mid-Section this weekend.

1) The heatshild that kinda wraps around the lower section of the downpipe after the Cat- Left it off (lagged to the bottom of the drop in the dowpipe though)

2) The piece of metal which sits around the turbo and routes cold air to it from the bonnet scoop (I understand this is not there on later cars)- A well placed slit allows it to bend clear of the wider downpipe. If you want to know precisely where I cut it email me off line. I preferred this option to angle grinding as it will allow it to be bolted back to its original mounts should I put the standard exhaust on.

Hope this helps
Did

P.S Absolutely NO rattles either
