Question

I have disconnected my dump valve from the pipe that returns to the front of the turbo and spun it round so I can feel the air passing through it (it is still connected to the intercooler). Even when the car is ticking over air is flowing through the dump valve and releasing the throttle does not seem to make any difference.
Is this correct?
I thought air should only pass through when you let of the gas?

Can anyone help?

Thanks Andy,
Like you said I replaced the pipe it such a way that I could see the valve, rev the engine and the valve shuts and then gradually opens as you ease off.
Though this does not make my problems better, only one more thing to check If that’s OK then It looks like I need a new turbo!!
No nights out for a while
Anyway time to get the spanners out.

Thanks,
