Is the WRX drive train the same as a 2.5 liter RS made in the United States? I ask this because I would like to ad some horsepower increasing items and I dont want a drivetrain failure..

Any help would be greatly appreciated..

No the clutch and gearbox are different, and I guess some of the diffs may also be different to cope with the increase in power and torque.

The 2.5RS drivetrain seems to be able to withstand most of the abuse thrown at it by some of the aftermarket turbo conversions, though the clutch is a definite weak point and will need to be replaced with a higher spec one.

I'd also look at uprating the brakes, and probably the suspnsion before you go too far with power upgrades, unless you have already done so.
