Hi,

I have a question about the Blitz exhaust:
Is the "nur spec" backbox only just as noisy as the "R full exhaust Nur spec"?
And compared to the scoobysport backbox?

The complaints of the box hitting the car in some places. what´s that all about? design failure of Blitz? And how to solve? (since I live in the Netherlands I have to do it myself)
I would appreciate any info for my MY99 turbo
(yes, still completely standard)

Can't answer the first point - but that sound - wow! (get the full system!)

Second point about box not fitting properly - don't understand how it happened and it wasn't checked but i actually had the wrong system so it more-or-less fitted, just touched the diff and the heat shield. A quick trip to Racelogic rectified this tho and the correct system was installed. Fits perfectly with no knocks or bangs!

Can't comment on the Blitz Backbox (NUR Spec) but I do have the infamous Nur Spec R system on my MY99. Its from the downpipe back and in 2 pieces. removes one cat.

fitting is a breeze, Penni's other half and myself swapped them round in 10mins..no knocking either.

noise..well yes there is noise the previous 2 owners of the exhaust couldnt hack it but I think its fine.

makes the rear (the end most people see) more agressive with the "cannon" style exit

recommended but I think they are somewhere near £700. For that sort of money you could have an entire de-catted system.

But I cannot remove the mid section due to the exhaust gas rules (cat removed) and Noise rules in the Netherlands. Scoobysport backbox is just within noise rules but the Full system NUR spec probably isn´t....

It is not about money because both backboxes are almost the same price.

I think you could class it as loud and sporty if you no what i mean. Its a lot louder than the prodrive box until you hit about 5000rpm and then it sounds absolutley gorgeous. On a run it does tend to resonate throgh the car a bit. My wife descibed it similar to a Ducati (but what would she no), still im dead pleased with it and i do about 70 motorway miles a day in it.
