Question

I have just picked up a Subaru 1800 DLSE which I assume was the predecessor of the Impreza and Legacy.

Looking under the bonnet the power steering reservoir and radiator cap are obviously identical to the Impreza.

However, does anyone know whether there are any other identical parts, i.e. driveshafts, alternator, startermotoor, coil, etc, etc, as if they are I will strip them off the car for spares.

I had 3 DL cars and did all my own maintenance. From working on my STi3 it's clear that the Impreza is based on the DL model although I'd guess (& hope) that a lot of the parts, although basically the same have been strenghtened and modernised.

Kevin.
