Pick up new Scoob & Cops swoop in!!!!
Think yourself lucky you weren't staring down an MP5 when you opened the door. Best laxative i've ever seen!!! You can relax now knowing you've given the boys in blue the biggest giggle of the day, nothing like a real life test to get the heart going!!
That reminds me i'm on a 9-7 night shift, best turn off PC and get some kip!!!

This is how I found out my new MY02 is fitted with a TRACKER (that works!!)
Last week I collected my new MY02 Bugeye PPP wagon from my local dealers. I drove back to the the office (off J4 on M42) for an extra hour or so of dedication. Whilst beavering away I noticed that well-known loud droning of a police chopper nearby checking something out.....
Forgetting this, I commenced my journey home. About 2 miles from home in Selly Oak, the boys in blue shot past from the other direction, lights flashing (again, big city, happens all the time, therefore hardly noticed it). What happened next goes down as my most bizarre driving experience ever...!
I pull up at red lights on A38 Jn. about 6 cars back, then all at once: lights change to red-amber, phone goes and I pick up, cops suddenly appear alongside
.....I drop the phone (not the clutch!)
Me, window down: "Its me mate I was just gonna tell him to bog off" (the truth) I'm thinking Ssshiiit !
Cop: "Pull over"
Me: "!" **(****, no tax!)** "Are you telepathic ?"
Cop: "Just pull over!"
Into the bus-stop we go, cops drawing right alongside. I know the drill, engine off, get out......
"I just bought it, and you will notice that...." At this point I look round to see at least 5 cop cars inc. T5's with rozzers all piling out!
I go round the passenger side to get the paperwork (including a cheque from the garage for the tax disc), cop gets in drivers side (to make sure i'm not gonna drive off). At this point its obvious to one and all i'm not a thief...
All the cops, cop cars and one Scooby with quite a few spectators, was well exciting!!!
So here's what happened: When I left the dealers I clicked the demobiliser button before switching on the ignition, as I knew the car had sat unlocked for quite a bit. Because I did not follow the correct sequence, the Tracker activated! (which neither the dealer and therefore me knew was fitted
) I spent the next 20 mins sat in the cop car throwing evidence at them to prove the car was mine. They needed to ensure the Police National Computer showd the car registered to me, and that the Tracker people had my mobile number in case it happened again! The cops thought it highly amusing as (in the end) did I. And I've got a free Tracker that works!!
Wilster.
They let me off the tax and being on the phone. The garage hadn't sorted the tax disc because, although I was insured, the cover-note didn't turn up in time (so they gave me a cheque instead). The cops trusted me to buy one the next day. Cool huh?
Interestingly, while sat with them, I quizzed them about all sorts of things:
- The 'apprehending' cop had to made a snap judgement as to whether I was a car-thief or not. He said they were pretty close to pulling me out and putting me face down in the dirt, although he said he was worried I might give him some back!
- After I showed them the receipt, they wondered why it was only for £6k. I said I part-exed my MY99 and they thought it was a bargain!!!
- They asked me what the reg was on my old car. They then proceeded to tell me they knew it was blue and where I lived !!!
They said they knew where all the Scoobs lived on their patch. Probably showing off a bit, but not bad eh?
- They said if I'd decided to run (in the Scoob!) they would have given up by the next set of lights. The chopper by that time was on another job.
- RAC Trackstar were giving the 'chasing' rozzers a running commentary of my movements by SatNav and they were able to describe my route home.
Wilster.

funny that. I just received a letter from police, once panic mode off it read "as an owner of a subaru impreza we would like to make you aware of the thefts of these vehicles and what measures I should take to avoid having it stolen"
apparently they are writing to everyone in the west midlands area

I would check that now you have got yourself registered as the new owner of the car that the Tracker is re-activated. If the dealer didn't know it had one then the tracker is only working for the person who bought and activated it (AFAIK). Once you have been stopped and the correct details give expect a letter soon asking for a subscription to get it turned back on!!!
