when i start the car from cold there is a slight buzzing / rattle from the front of the exhaust on the OS, if i hold the can, it stops the rattle... is there anything that can be done to sort this, or does it need replacing ??

You can either "gently" drill a small hole through the very outer heatsheild, so you can then insert a self tapping screww through, so it then acts as a replacement for the weld tag that has broken. Quite effective but may need the odd re tightening of the screww once in a while when the rattle returns. Otherwise, yes, you will have to replace the section, as its not the outer sheild that breaks free, its the inner one, thats why the self tapper trick often works !
