Question

I have a classic UK Spec Impreza, spoke to a bloke today about uprating the Turbo to a stage 1 that they supply he told me that I need to add a new Adj boost control in car and remap the ECU I asked what power gains that would give me (BHP) he told me that it would push approx 340BHP @15psi Boost is this possible without any other mods he quoted £850 for parts + labour seems kinda cheap for that much of a powergain

Get a quote in writing along with an assurance of the gains

At around £8 / HP this is the bargin of the year

Please be careful and ask a few others such as Lateral Performance, Roger Clark Motorsport, BR Developments or API Engines before going ahead.

Sounds a bit optimistic for the power gains, especially if the uk
car is standard.

15psi on Pre97 Uk turbo = roughly 265hp with decent exhaust.

Probably about 250hp on 97 onwards with smaller turbo.

I never did like the idea of tuning stages, there isn't such a thing, there is only how much you can afford to do at the time.

Prior to '99 std injectors are only good for about 290hp unless you're mental (some have gone higher). After that bigger std 440 injectors allow for about 330hp, more with raise fuel pressure.

The later cars with TD04 turbos are limited to about 280hp by the turbo anyway.
