If I do an HPI Check and it comes up clear apart from two plates changes, one of which has records against it - does that mean the car im looking at is clear or I should worry ?

 

why would you worry, the numberplate change or the fact its clear ?

 

Sorry I meant its had a plate change and a previous plate changed this yr couple of months ago has records but doesnt say what just says to call them and they are shut..

 

If a car has had a couple of numberplate changes in a couple of months I would speak to them probably an innocent reason why.

 

Probably nothing but you better double check. Alot of times the reg gets transfered to the new car but still shows on the HPI. Ideally they would match the car by VIN but sometimes its by REG. So if A123 XYZ gets transfered to the new car and the buyer finances it, then the car your looking at can appear to be still on finance.

 

Cheers guys its mint and im supposed to be picking it up tom. this was the last check before going ahead and ill be gutted if there is an issue !
