I have been suffering with a bit of a paint problem with my MY99 turbo, pretty much since new.

Above the passenger side door, to the left of the windscreen there are small "patches" of what looks like silver grey speckles. These are very tiny but have spread a little. They are rough to the touch.

Has anyone else had this problem? I have shown it to my dealer and he has said that they have never seen anyhting like it. The "paint specialist" is coming from IM/Subaru today and it will be resprayed under warranty (just the offending parts I think). I must say that once again, my dealer has been superb about this issue.

What colour is your car? You want to inspect the car VERY carefully after the paint job to make sure it looks as new.

 

If its a mica car - maybe some of the mica particles were either too big, or clumped together for some reason?
