Moray,
thanks for your comments. Considering the difference in price is the link that much better than the Unichip?
What experience did you have with PE?

Mo,
Bear in mind that the Link is a completely separate ECU which you have the option to sell if you change your car...
I have a MY94 WRX and the ECU is different to the later cars.
Regarding selling-on, I would think there is probably a fairly good market for a second-hand unit - well, it's not like it's going to wear out, is it
Thanks
Gavin

Moray,
I have just read that you have a Motec fitted, how does this compare to the above, taking into account cost/reliability/and the all important grin factor!
I don't want to end up saving pennies and losing out on all the ;D that this sort of upgrade can produce, but in the same stead I don't want to spend thousands to get only an extra couple of horses more than the cheaper option.
One more thing, is yours a UK car?
Cheers,
Zak.

Zak,
As many will no doubt tell you, the Motec isn't cheap. I would suggest looking at a unichip or link for your car, the motec wouldn't really be able to offer you that much more in terms of absoulte performance on an older model UK car such as yours. If you were to want serious perofrmance, I would suggest you consider trading up to an STI car before spending much more on tuning your current car.
I have a (deep breath) WRX STI Version 3 Type RA V-Limited Pure Sports Sedan. I had a phase one fitted at one point, this ended up costing me ~£3500 in total and I had it removed. It gave 346bhp on powerengineering's rolling road but was never anywhere near as quick as the motec is on the road. My car has a serious grin factor attached.
