I'm entitled to an Irish Passport. Is it worthwhile getting one, so my children will also be entitled to one?? Would it make a difference if I or they wished to live\work\retire there??

 

Doubt it's that much use, with the powers of the EU applying so wide these days (free movement of persons).

More useful in the 70s, when you could show it to the Arab hijackers and you'd have less chance of being one of the first hostages to be shot as a US-loving Brit.

 

Yep, as the Irish have always been officially neutral in political matters most hijackers will let you off the plane before they get started with the butchery.

 

yes... Best one to have for most places. They like the Irish everywhere and the terrorist thing might still work...........!!
