Dave, once your engine reaches a certain boost it protects itself by cutting fuel to your engine, this stops any more power being attained, which if your after more than stock BHP, this will a problem, unless you buy a modded 1 to raise fuel cut & therefore boost.
loads off different models about, price is around £70-£80

ive been told i need one to over 16psi cause of the fuel cut.

im getting a walbro pump and regulator any day now so the fuelling wont be a problem.

i dont no sod all about these so all advice is very appreciated, and the cost of one and are there different makes of them

Fuel cut on UK MY97/98 is 1.25bar (18.13psi).

Depending on how boost is controlled you could easily overboost to this level if you wanted to run 16psi held.

Plenty to look at in here and over the pond.

Unless fitted with PPP the UK97 is <16PSI (mine was around 14PSI).

If you dont fancy building your own you could use a mechanical one to fool the MAP sensor.

Make sure you get at least a boost gauge before playing around with the levels.
