You're correct in that a smoother weld makes the gas flow better. Sounds like they didn't pay too much attention to gas flow when they manufactured your downpipe...

Hayward & Scott make very smooth welds I ought to be on their payroll, the number of times I've praised their work this week...! LOL I'm just so chuffed with me exhaust

Regards,

Ade.

I have just had delivery of my Magnex Twin Dump Decat Downpipe, but have noticed that there is a lot of rough welding on the inside of the mouth (turbo end) is this normal?? I thought that the smoother the path for exhaust gas the better.
also the Lamba hole is very close to the top of the pipe (turbo end) will this be a problem if refitting the origional heatshield?
last one
The picture i saw of this pipe showed the wastegate pipe joining main pipe a fair way down the pipe but the one I have been sent joins the pipe a reletively short (3inches-ish)distance down??
Is this an ok design????
much appreciated if anyone can comment on above. I may just be being a t055er about it

Think they have modified the dump pipe - I had one about 6 months ago and the dump pipe was rubbing on the steering column. They must have made it shorter to stop this problem.

we supply Magnex exhausts and the quality is normally very good............
they have modified the d/pipe as above because of clearance issues on certain vehicles and the one you have described is the latest spec!!
