I had a full decat BPM fitted to my MY99 and it was LOUD, ran about 103db. But it sounded awesome, bit like a race V8 Really tempted to get another one but even with the bung fitted it was hard to live with on a day to day basis.

Mine was a BPM Twister III 3" by the way, which has no sound deadening in it at all.

Two questions.
1.Which exhaust gives the best and loudest flat four 'dugga dugga' sound?
Not noise for noise sake, but a true 'dugga dugga' sound.
And 2. Which exhaust gives the best flat four 'dugga dugga' without being overly loud?

Have listened to a few exhausts now...but heared one the other week on a classic sti which had the perfect 'dugga dugga' on start up and boost out of a petrol station forecourt. Wasn't that loud...but wasn't quiet... and i noticed the 3 1/2" (approx) exhaust outlet had a 'rim' around the edge of the circular straight cut outlet.
Do you know what it might have been?.....TSL?

i hear the blitz nur r spec has a great sound and shows off the scooby rumble but may be a bit on the loud side and apparently leaves a ringing in your ears after a long journey, especially on the motorway - any1 else heard or know of this prob?

Scoobysport exhaust? Mine looks like you described and I personally think it is the best sounding exhaust around, not too loud, but loud enough, if you know what I mean. I have a .wav file at home of it and a magnex one if you want me to e-mail you them so you can decide

After a SS BB, I found that the dugga dugga got better with a straight through centre section and then even better with a SS downpipe!

I'm addicted to the sound and drive slow in high gear on purpose to hear the duggas properly!

BPM are an Australian company which make very high quality but expensive exhausts. The Scoobyshop is an authorised dealer for the UK.

Question

Just to clarify, are we talking Janspeed Scoobysport or H&S Scoobysport?

My opinion.....

Ive had the magnex round, not much DUGGA DUGGA...

Then i got a Blitz Nurspec Couldnt here the DUGGA DUGGA becouse the blitz eas so load.

Finally im running the Prodrive WRS backbox, and that is the perfect sound for me, not to loud, and lovley DUGGA DUGGA.

You lot need to go and have your ears tested!

Everybody knows a scooby goes 'CROBBA CROBBA' and not 'DUGGA DUGGA'.

Sorry, I couldn't resist it!

I agree, the Twister 3 is very very loud. I have the Twin Dump Dpipe, straight throught Centre Section and GT Back Box which is not quite as loud as the Twister but gives off a deeper note.

Just put a TSL Group N 4" backbox on, wonderful sound, not much louder than standard when cruising on motorway, but sounds really deep from the outside and when accelerating.

...so does the Janspeed Scoobysport have the deeper Dugga sound than the H&S Scoobysport?

Don't know which version of scoobysport mine is but It's 3 years old so I presume it's a H&S one. It gets a bit louder and deeper when hot though. It sounds quite quiet inside the car but still has a good noise level outside the car without pi55ing the neighbours off. My fiancee loves the sound when we are cruising as it is very soothing and always send her to sleep (until I start cornering )

I can still e-mail a sound file to anyone who wants a listen

I've got the H&S open neck split downpipe and silencer (leaving centre cat on). Not too loud, but amazingly deep for a 3.5" exit. It's more of a bob-bob-bob-bob sound than a dugga, but it's soooooo addictive
