Simple question really.

Anyone know how long it should take to retro-fit air con to a MY98 Turbo?

Hello David
fitting an Air con takes about 3 hours with fuelling.
It works fine on MY98, but driving about 240km/h the air condition switches off - but this seems to be normal (says my dealer)

It's just that the dearership that has just fitted mine claimed, at one point as time was running out, fitting takes EIGHT hours and that ties in with the £272 (£34ph) that I've been charged. However, Cheam Motors informed me that fitting is done by an external contractor (CoolAir) and it takes them "a couple of hours" Now we are talking £136ph!!!

Anyway my aircon fitment breaks down thus

Air Con kit.............£1000.00
Fitting.................£ 272.25
Specialist charge (?)...£ 45.00
VAT.....................£ 230.52

Grand total.............£1547.77

Hey! I got it cheap!

SIR,

UN BELIEVABLE 1547.77 to fit A/C,
knowing the U.K. on road price the impreza
range especialy the turbo . No doubt life is expensive over there.

I have already mentioned that getting an impreza turbo over here is quite a challenge but the on road price is only around 14000 pounds sterling. And by the way
this includes A/C as well as sun-roof,stereo
...etc

Strange world we live in!!

Very strange world indeed, considering the fact that you can get a 280ps WRX in Japan with climate A/C and a very good hi-fi headunit for £12000 (cheaper if you haggle).
