This seems to been the most common mod on the WRX. Yet any dyno graphs I have seen show only small improvements at high RPM. Is it really worth putting a full 3" mandrel bent exhaust and does this void warranty?

Has anyone out there been able to increase off boost torque?

I have a MY97 WRX sedan. I put on a japanese exhaust ( cost me plenty ) and saw an increase of 20% at the wheels. The exhaust is a TRUST 3" exhaust with dump pipe.

20% is very high. That is like 30 at the wheels extra on a WRX - 40 at the flywheel.

Earlier today we saw about 9-10 at the flywheel with the Scoobysports and a Japanese Blitz Backbox. GGR only quote an extra 10bhp for a full 3" System.

As to a full 3" system making a huge difference over a good backbox I doubt there's much in it. Thats for the next Rolling Road Session.
